"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them" Genesis 1:27

"Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand" Isaiah 64:8

Created as image bearers –reflections of The Lord, our God. When we first become believers we are transformed into new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17) –vessels capable of shining Christ to those around us. He lovingly molds, forms, and fashions us into His likeness –chiseling and polishing as we die to self, replacing the idols and masters that hold us captive, pursuing holiness, and mirroring the character of our great God.

As we come to know and love Him through His Word we become captivated –enthralled and life's worldly distractions fade, low murmurs replace the attention grabbing ruckus. We are able to sit at His feet and soak in His presence –alive in Christ, awake to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, with a heart and soul crying out for the extraordinary.

The following article by John Piper looks beyond ordinary to extraordinary:

When my soul is hungry for deep help from God; when I am blank before the word of God, and ache for someone to show me the greatness and glory of Christ; when I feel a longing for heaven, and desire a soul-brother who shares this passion; when I am full of fresh fruit from God’s word, and yearn for a fellow lover of Scripture, I do not look for a “regular guy.”
