Here is a quick introduction to some of the speakers we have had or will have speak here at TACC. If you see them around campus make sure to say hello!
Doug Wicks is one of our Elders here at TACC. He is married with two grown children. He works as a supervisor for the City of Santa Ana. Doug leads our elder team and teaches regularly in our discipleship classes. He has preached on occasion in the morning worship service also.
Pastor Jim Hill
Jim and his wife, Brenda are former TACC members whom the Lord called into Pastoral Ministry some 18 years ago. They recently returned from serving at Glen Ellen Community Church in California’s wine country at the leading of the Lord in order to be closer to their family located in Southern California. Jim is ordained by the EFCA and served as the Senior Pastor of GECC for almost eleven years. Prior to that, Jim was the Executive Pastor of Lake Almanor Community Church where he and Brenda assisted in all areas of church ministry including Adult Education and Worship Leadership. Prior to that, Jim served for 19 years ministering to the world’s poor through World Vision and has traveled extensively to over 45 countries. Also, while at World Vision, Jim was part of a local church consulting group and worked with local churches to solve a wide variety of management and ministry issues. Jim’s first full time job was with Southern California Edison where he ultimately became a Senior Auditor and performed operational audits and management reviews of the various operating units of the utility. He was there for twelve years.
Jim has a BA degree from California State University, Fullerton as well as an MBA degree from Pepperdine University. He returned to seminary later on and obtained his MA and DMIN degrees in ministry from Fuller Seminary. Jim also co-authored the book “The Peacemaking Power of Prayer,” published by Broadman and Holman.
Brenda and Jim have been married for 48 years and have three grown daughters and four grandchildren living in Southern California.
Bob Osborne is the director of church health for EFCA West. Bob joined the EFCA West team in 2013 after completing 38 years of service with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. His primary responsibilities with EFCA West include strengthening churches, pastors, and leadership teams through leadership training and development, vision clarity and effective strategy, design and implementation of supporting systems and policy, and assisting churches through times of crisis and transition.
Bob and his wife Charlene will celebrate their 42nd anniversary in October. They have served at the same church for forty-two years. Their two adult sons reside in Southern California. Bob and Charlene reside in La Verne, California.
Dr. Craig Hill has taught Bible and Theology for over 20 years at Biola University and Fuller Theological Seminary. He and his wife Kelly work with Standing Stone Ministry providing ongoing support to local pastors. They live in Irvine with their 4 kids. Craig also hosts a podcast called, The Teaching Pastor (available on itunes). Most importantly, Craig loves Jesus, loves the Bible, and loves the Church.
