Passage: Genesis 22:1–22:19
1. God loves us so much that he wants us to make sacrifices for him (Genesis 22:1-12)
2. God loves us so much that he sent the perfect sacrifice for us – Jesus (Genesis 22:13-19)
What is the difference between a test and a temptation? Does God test us today? How?
Is God primarily concerned with your knowledge about who He is, or about your obedience to what He calls you to do?
How do you define faith?
Do you think God would ever call you to sacrifice your first-born son? Why or why not? What are some things that God might call you to sacrifice for him?
How is sacrifice related to worship?
Is God pleased by your sacrifices in and of themselves? Are you sacrifices good enough for God? Why or why not?
Why is the sacrifice of Jesus necessary?
Must we continue to make sacrifices to God if Jesus is the only perfect sacrifice and the only sacrifice, which is sufficient to appease the wrath of God?
