WELCOME!

The purpose of this blog is to provide helpful resources and support to the families of Taft Avenue Community Church. Our ultimate goal is to help parents raise the next generation of Christ-followers to be fully convinced of the truth and power of the gospel and ready to go into the world and make disciples as God clearly calls us to do!

FOUNDATIONAL SCRIPTURE

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."
- Deuteronomy 6:5-7 ESV

The Gospel Coalition is excited to announce a new music project aimed at helping kids learn about God. Listen to a few of the songs and check out the Songs for Saplings website. This could also make a great stocking stuffer for your kids!

Take a look at this article from "Ministry-to-Children". Our words are powerful. And as Christian parents and teachers, we need to know and understand the most important things that they need to hear from us.

An Interview with Jason Helopoulos on Family Worship | Ed Stetzer & Jason Helopoulos As Christian parents, Donna and I have a responsibility to teach the gospel to our daughters. If you are a parent, you have that same responsibility with your children. The problem comes when parents entrust the church or children's ministry to do this for them. Discipling your children is a daily task that should happen at home AND at church, not one that can be done in an hour or two of programming each week. That's why I'm encouraged to see a growing emphasis on family worship"and resources to promote the practice. Jason Helopoulos has written A Neglected Grace, a helpful new book on the practice, and graciously answered some questions for the blog.
